November Prompts

One of the most common questions I get about journaling every day is “what do I even write about!?” I write about literally anything and everything in my life - what I’ve been up to, what I want to do, what’s happening in nature, something silly my pet did. I get it though, some days the inspiration isn’t there, even though you’ve got everything prepared to get to journaling. Here are five things I’m including in my journal for November, my hope is it serves as a creative spark for you.

  1. Things to say “no” to - I picked up the “No”vember idea a few years ago. The end of the year can be such a busy time, so creating this list is a reminder to say no to obligations that don’t bring joy.

  2. Gratitude list - I usually keep a short gratitude list each day, but I love looking back at some of the bigger moments throughout the year.

  3. Thanksgiving groceries - We host Thanksgiving each year, so there’s a lot of planning that is involved. I love tallying up all the grocery runs in pounds of food - when you host for 40 it’s a lot!

  4. Thanksgiving memories - Having a few days off work usually means time with family and friends and lots of fun memories.

  5. Black Friday shopping list & tracker - I’m not as much of a Black Friday shopper anymore, but I do usually see some sales that I have to jump on. I like jotting down anything I may want and keeping track of orders.

Don’t forget to tag me on Instagram @thefeatheredjournal if you include any of these in your journals.
