Top 10 Ways to Start Small…

The TOP question I receiving about journaling is how do I find the time… I don’t. I have to make time. One way I do this is by finding a reason to touch my journal each day with the hope that writing one small thing will lead to writing even more. I started my journaling journey by recording my mood and sleep each day, and once I did the hard part of getting my journal and pen out, it made it easy to flip to another section and just write.

Here are some ideas to get you into your journal each day:

  1. Weather - Record the high/low temperature and conditions in your area for the day.

  2. Mood - Jot down how you felt the previous day.

  3. Sleep - Record the numbers of hours you slept each day.

  4. Health - Take record of other pertinent health factors - food, water, symptoms, cycle.

  5. Gratitude - A favorite way to start each day, list a few things you are grateful for.

  6. Child/Pet Antics - Write down something funny or memorable your child or pet did.

  7. Tarot/Oracle Pull- Try a card pull each day and record general impressions.

  8. Dreams - Record a few key points and take aways of your dream from the previous evening.

  9. Media - What have you been reading/watching lately?

  10. Contact - Jot down a summary of any fun conversations you had.
