December Prompts

One of the most common questions I get about journaling every day is “what do I even write about!?” I write about literally anything and everything in my life - what I’ve been up to, what I want to do, what’s happening in nature, something silly my pet did. I get it though, some days the inspiration isn’t there, even though you’ve got everything prepared to get to journaling. Here are five things I’m including in my journal for December, my hope is it serves as a creative spark for you.

  1. Winter bucket list - There are so many activities going on this time of year. I like making a list of all the activities I want to go to so I can prioritize when I get overwhelmed with options.

  2. Winter guilty pleasures - Winter is full of delicious seasonal goodness that I have to squeeze in while I can. My biggest guilty pleasure - McDonal'd’s holiday pies. I will stop every chance I get!

  3. Christmas movie list - We have a list of must watch movies each year in our household - it’s not Christmas until we’ve seen Home Alone!

  4. Christmas song rank - Out of all the Christmas songs, it’s hard for me to name a favorite, but I like to try by creating a little ranking list.

  5. Christmas recipes - Holiday baking is my absolute favorite, so including what I baked, the recipe, and any notes is so much fun to include in my journals.

Don’t forget to tag me on Instagram @thefeatheredjournal if you include any of these in your journals.
